Enock Kabakaki from Tanzani is studying for a BSc in Cultural Anthropology and tourism at Tumaini University. Enock received funding of £2,251 to help with a project investigating community participation in the management of the protected areas of the Ruaha National Park in Tanzania.
Bernard Barasa from Uganda is studying for a MSc in Environmental and Natural Resources at Makerere University. Bernard received funding of £2,323 for training in the empowerment of rural communities in the sustainable development of the River Sio Ecosystem which is part of the Lake Victoria Basin.
Adama Kabore from Burkina Faso is studying for a PhD in Natural Resource Management at the Polytechnic University of Bobo-Dioulasso. Adama received funding of £2,000 to study the acute toxicity and anthelmintic properties of extracts of Daniellia oliveri which is used in traditional veterinary medicine by smallholder farmers in Burkina Faso.
Florence Akwatulira from Uganda is studying for a MSc in Agroforestry at Makerere University. Florence received funding of £2,399 to develop vegetative propagation techniques in Warburgia ugandensis with a view to increasing availability to local communities in Uganda for medicinal purposes.
